This site offers amazing counters, showing just how quickly social media is growing. It boggles the mind. Our world and our lives are so very busy, noisy, and cluttered. We are bombarded by information. Into such a world comes God's truth. He says, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10, NIV).
In our BFG class last week, Ron shared a devotional from a recent day in My Utmost For His Highest. Oswald Chambers talked about the fact that many, many times God answers our prayers with silence and that so often we either ignore the silence or we just don't "hear" it! This website you linked to, shows me why we don't hear God's silence...we allow it to be drowned out by every social networking site we are involved in. I had a Facebook site, but eventually de-activated it becuase I continually received the "Jo-jo sends you a Facebook kiss!" or someother equally lame comment. According to my calculations, I now have an "extra" two hours a day to waste in other ways! It astounds me that any of us have time to "Be still and know that I am God."
