Dan Brown's Errors

Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol, says that his books, while fictional, are grounded in fact. This article looks at 50 of his claims. Just a reminder that just because someone says "fact" does not necessarily indicate "fact." I personally enjoyed reading The Da Vinci Code. It's just important to be a discerning reader.

  1. There seems to be a different standard of veracity for non- or anti-Christians than there is for Christian writers and pundits. After reading the linked article, it seems that Mr. Brown is one of two things...very sloppy with his "research" or intentionally disingenuous. Either way, you would think this would cast a pall of suspicion on everything else in his books. However, I am sure that is probably just my intolerance showing though!

  2. Yes, Papaw, the media gave Brown a pass on his misinformation, just as they do all left wing libs. I found the disclosure article very enlightening, and, like Chad, found the movie very entertaining, but after reading the mis-statements, it takes the fun out of following The DaVinci Code. Of course, the Bible has hidden code in it, too. Take Ephesians 5:25, talking about how husbands should listen to and respect their wives. If you look REALLY closely, you can pick out the code letters "Y-E-S D-E-A-R"
